Accessibility Statement
We're committed to making our online store usable by everyone — regardless of ability, device, or assistive technology. Here's what we're doing, where we fall short, and how to reach us if something isn't working for you.

Accessibility for everyone
Hearthside Supply is dedicated to providing an accessible online experience for all our customers. We continuously work to improve our site and follow recognized accessibility standards.
Inclusive by Design
Hearthside Supply LLC believes everyone deserves a seamless shopping experience. Accessibility is part of our design and development process from day one.
Visual Accessibility
We design for screen readers, high contrast, and resizable text so visitors with visual impairments can navigate with confidence.
Keyboard Friendly
Every interactive element — menus, filters, cart, checkout — is fully operable by keyboard alone, without requiring a mouse.
Hearing Considerations
Video and audio content includes captions or transcripts wherever possible so no information is locked behind sound.
Standards we follow
We align our development process with recognized accessibility standards and best practices to ensure our store is usable by the widest possible audience.
WCAG 2.1 Level AA
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA — the international standard recognized by the ADA and Section 508 for web accessibility.
Semantic HTML & ARIA
Our pages use proper HTML structure — headings, landmarks, ARIA labels, and roles — so assistive technologies can understand and navigate content.
Regular Audits
We review our site using automated tools (Lighthouse, axe, WAVE) and manual testing with screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver) to identify and fix issues.
User Feedback
We listen to our customers. If you encounter a barrier, your feedback directly informs our accessibility improvements and prioritization.
Accessibility features by category
We've implemented features across four key accessibility categories to support visitors with different needs and assistive technologies.

Where we fall short
We're honest about our limitations. While we work hard to be fully accessible, some areas of our site still need improvement. Here's what we know about and what we're doing about it.
Third-Party Content
Some product videos, reviews, or embedded content come from third parties (Google, YouTube, manufacturers) and may not meet our accessibility standards. We work with partners to improve this over time.
Manufacturer PDFs
Some product manuals and spec sheets are provided as PDFs by manufacturers and may not be fully tagged for screen readers. Contact us for assistance with any document or for an alternative format.
Tidio Live Chat
Our live chat widget is provided by Tidio, a third-party service. While largely accessible, some features may not work perfectly with all assistive technologies. Email is always available as an alternative.
Complex Product Configurators
Some products with many variant options can be complex to navigate by screen reader. We're actively working to simplify these experiences and provide alternative navigation methods.
Payment Forms
Our checkout is processed by Wix Payments (Base44 Payments). While the checkout is designed to be accessible, some payment form elements are controlled by the payment processor and may have limitations.
Browser Compatibility
We test across major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge), but older or less common browsers may render content differently. For the best experience, use a current browser version.
Tell us what's not working
If you encounter an accessibility barrier on our site — a page you can't navigate, content you can't read, or a feature that doesn't work with your assistive technology — please let us know. We take every report seriously and will work to fix the issue or provide an alternative way to access the information you need.
When you contact us, please include the page URL, a description of the issue, and the assistive technology you're using. We aim to respond within two business days.

Our conformance target
We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA — the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines published by the W3C. Level AA is the conformance level referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act for digital accessibility. We use "aim to meet" rather than "conform to" because accessibility is an ongoing process and some areas of our site may not yet fully meet this standard.
Laws and standards we align with
Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA): Title III of the ADA requires places of public accommodation — including websites — to be accessible to individuals with disabilities.
Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act: Requires federal agencies and contractors to make electronic and information technology accessible. We align with Section 508 standards as a best practice.
WCAG 2.1 Level AA: The internationally recognized standard for web accessibility, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
Services that may affect accessibility
Our site uses third-party services whose accessibility may differ from our own:
Tidio: Powers our live chat widget. While largely accessible, some features may not work with all assistive technologies. Email is always available as an alternative.
Wix Payments (Base44 Payments): Processes our checkout. The checkout is designed to be accessible, but some payment form elements are controlled by the processor.
Google Analytics & Google Ads: Used for site analytics and advertising. These services may set cookies but do not directly affect page accessibility.
Manufacturer content: Product videos, manuals, and spec sheets provided by manufacturers may not meet our accessibility standards.
How we test our site
We evaluate accessibility through a combination of automated and manual testing:
Automated tools: Lighthouse, axe DevTools, and WAVE for identifying code-level accessibility issues.
Manual testing: Keyboard-only navigation, screen reader testing (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver), and browser zoom up to 200%.
User feedback: Reports from our customers directly inform our accessibility improvements and issue prioritization.
Policies that work with this one
This Accessibility Statement works alongside our other store policies:
Privacy Policy: How we handle your personal data, including accessibility feedback you provide.
Terms & Conditions: Store usage terms, order acceptance, and dispute resolution.
Cookie Policy: How cookies and similar technologies are used on our site.
Changes to this statement
We may update this Accessibility Statement from time to time to reflect changes in our site, accessibility standards, legal requirements, or our practices. When we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of our store after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated statement.
Questions about accessibility?

Frequently asked questions
We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the internationally recognized standard for web accessibility. Our approach aligns with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act. We use semantic HTML, ARIA labels, proper heading structures, and keyboard-navigable interactions throughout our site, and conduct regular audits using both automated tools and manual testing.
Yes. Every interactive element — navigation menus, product filters, cart, and checkout — is fully operable by keyboard. You can use the Tab key to move between elements, Enter or Space to activate buttons, and Escape to close overlays. Visible focus indicators show where you are at all times.
We design for screen reader compatibility using proper HTML landmarks, descriptive alt text on images, ARIA labels on interactive elements, and logical heading order. We test with popular screen readers including NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver. If something isn't reading correctly, please report it.
Yes. You can increase or decrease text size using your browser's zoom or font size settings without breaking page layout. We recommend up to 200% zoom for optimal readability. If text becomes difficult to read at larger sizes, let us know so we can investigate.
Please contact us via email, phone, or live chat with the page URL, a description of the issue, and the assistive technology you're using. We take every report seriously, aim to respond within two business days, and will work to fix the issue or provide an alternative way to access the information.
We aim to provide captions or transcripts for video content wherever possible. Some third-party or manufacturer-provided videos may not include captions. If you need a transcript for a specific video, contact us and we'll provide one.
Yes. Our checkout is fully keyboard-navigable, works with screen readers, and uses clear error messages with guidance for correction. Form fields have proper labels, and you can complete a purchase without any mouse interaction. Our checkout is processed by Wix Payments (Base44 Payments), which is designed to be accessible. If you encounter any issues during checkout, please contact us immediately.
If you need product information in an alternative format — such as plain text, larger print, or a screen-reader-friendly document — contact us with the product name and the format you need. We'll work with you and the manufacturer to provide accessible documentation.
Yes. Our site uses responsive design that adapts to all screen sizes and orientations. Touch targets meet minimum size guidelines (44px), and the site is compatible with mobile keyboards and switch devices. The experience is consistent across desktop, tablet, and mobile.
We test with NVDA and JAWS on Windows, VoiceOver on macOS and iOS, and TalkBack on Android. We also test keyboard-only navigation, high-contrast modes, and browser zoom up to 200%. Our testing includes both automated tools (Lighthouse, axe, WAVE) and manual review.
Help us improve
Accessibility is an ongoing journey, not a destination. Your feedback helps us find and fix barriers we might miss. If something isn't working for you, tell us — we're listening.
